OK, much of today sees the bleating papers and dynamic websites trying to weaken Arsenal by ripping out their very soul. Yes, Cesc 'I am really that good, even if I don't try too hard' Fabregas is off to Barcelona apparently, with the Spaniards offering a number of players in exchange as well as a wedge of cash.
I have also heard from one of those web forums thingies that Manchester City have offered over 20 million pounds for Theo Walcott. Two things here. Wenger should definitely have a ponder about selling Fabregas and should not think twice about selling Walcott to those nasty cash wielding Citizens.
Fab is fab but did that injury last season do something to him? Didn't quite look the same when he came back. And Walcott is as over rated as I am in golf. Everyone, including me, thinks I am good at golf but the truth is, I am not. And that is the same with Theo. I love the little whipper snapper but he can't pass and once his one-trick-pony-trick of 'poking the ball past the defender and running after it - fast' starts to wear a little thin then he has nothing.
If he did go to City I would laugh because if you watch any Arsenal game from last season you will realise that Adebayour never passed to him. And I mean never. And that's because he knew the ball would go to the opposition quick sharp.
So, statement number one: Arsenal WILL sell Walcott and WILL think about Fabregas going!!!! Ok, so I wasn't so insightful on the Fabregas bit but Wenger seems to be proving some football point at the moment.
The point being that he does not need these big name, big transfer tag players. He can do without Toure and Adebayour and won't held to a ransom for any players. If a team is stupid enough to pay big money for a player that cost Arsenal relatively little, then Wenger loves that, just to make a point to the footballing world.
Elsewhere, here is another statement that I would like you opinion on: It looks like Ryan Shawcross will go to Liverpool. Stoke played well against Liverpool last season and Rafa likes to buy players who performed well against his team. Just look at what happened with Peter Crouch. One good display for the Saints against Liverpool and eight weeks later he is a Liverpool player.
